Comic Relief does Top of the Pops Tonight!
13th March 2009
We’re bringing back the legendary music show that is Top Of The Pops for a one of Red Nose day special – tonight!
Comic Relief Does Top Of The Pops will feature legendary heavy weight bands Oasis, Take That, Franz Ferdinand and James Morrison all beaming straight into your sitting room this evening! Not wanting to miss out on the action there will be a specially recorded performance by rock legends U2. The show will conclude in the traditional way with a performance from this week’s Number 1!
Bringing a touch of comedy to this show will be none other than Wales’s finest double act, Rob Brydon and Ruth Jones. The fabulous Sir Tom Jones will make a special guest appearance alongside them as they perform their Comic Relief single ‘(Barry) Islands in the Stream’; and Robin Gibb, Joanna Page, Larry Lamb and other faces from Gavin and Stacey will act as the duo’s backing singers and line dancers for the night.
Expect to see a fair few friendly Comic Relief faces pop up throughout the show to lend their support and join in the fun. Guiding you through this extraordinary musical feast will be Britain’s best loved BBC Radio One chart show presenters Fearne Cotton & Reggie Yates and the effervescent Noel Fielding.
The musical extravaganza will continue throughout the entire night of Comic Relief - Funny for Money with even more live performances from Annie Lennox, The Saturdays, Elbow, and The Script. Make sure you tune into BBC One from 7pm tonight!
