Tom's Big Trip

Tom, aged 10, from Beverley, East Yorkshire, visited Sierra Leone earlier this year with the BBC. He found out about life in one of the world’s poorest countries and what makes children happy there.

Tom visited Comic Relief projects that are helping young people affected by the war there. Many of them lost their families and had to stop going to school. Some were even taken by the soldiers and made to work or fight.

But thanks to Comic Relief projects, their lives are being transformed.
