The BT Red Nose Climb

Cheryl

Cheryl Cole has had quite a year!

As well as enjoying continued success with the mighty Girls Aloud she has also become a Saturday night TV fixture thanks to her role as an X Factor judge.

Born in Newcastle in 1983 it wasn’t long before young Cheryl was showing her star potential by winning the Boot’s Bonniest Baby competition swiftly followed by the local paper crowning her the Most Attractive Girl at the MetroCentre!

Her association with Comic Relief started in 2007 when Cheryl took part in Comic Relief Does The Apprentice for Red Nose Day 2007. Girls Aloud also joined forces with the Sugababes to record that year’s Comic Relief single Walk This Way. Cheryl is married to Chelsea and England defender Ashley Cole.

CC: I’ll be honest I’m not looking forward to the climb itself. I’ll be happy when we’ve come down and have raised lots of money for Comic Relief.

KW: The highest thing I’ve ever climbed is the stairs and my only experience of camping is in my friends back gardens – I always remember feeling so happy in the morning that I was still alive.

CC: I’ve only been camping once in my life. I was 14 and had told my mum I was staying at a friend’s house but we actually camped in a field a couple of streets away. Being Newcastle it was absolutely freezing and my lips went blue.

KW: We’re pretty used to being away from home for a week or so at a time so missing things shouldn’t be too bad.

CC: I’d miss tea a lot, but I’ve checked and we’ll still get that on the mountain!
