Your Choices

This Red Nose Day, for the first time ever, you can choose how your Early Years group's fundraising money gets spent to help children across Africa get an education.

Millions of children across Africa face different challenges that stop them from going to school. Some children's families are too poor to afford school. Other children aren't able to go as they have to help at home when a family member is sick. And some are so busy fending for themselves away from home that they just can't go to school.

You can choose for your fundraising money to:

  • Help families afford school
  • Help children who don’t live at home
  • Help children who have to care for their families

How Early Years Groups Can Choose

If you want to involve parents in choosing where your group’s money goes, you can use the letter in your Early Years kit. The letter explains how they can have their say and includes a tear-off slip so that they can vote for their preferred choice. You can then count up the votes and tell us the majority vote when you pay your money in.

If you'd rather not make such a specific choice about how your money gets spent, you can either:

  • Ask Comic Relief to ensure your money helps kids in Africa get an education, no matter what challenges they face.
  • Ask Comic Relief to spend your money helping people facing all kinds of problems both across Africa and the UK.

To make your choice just tick the appropriate box on the back of your giro slip or let us know when you pay in your money online.
