In the latest addition to the many Red Nose Day opportunities for schools, Comic Relief has teamed up with the BBC and their Comedy Classroom literacy project to bring schools the Red Nose Day Comedy Classroom with Blue Peter competition. Set to deliver loads of laughs and learning in the classroom, the competition calls upon primary school children aged 6 to 12 to become classroom jokers, and is a great way to get prepared for putting on a comedy show this Red Nose Day.
Teachers can get their class involved in the competition by writing and submitting their own funny, original and creative jokes and the lucky winners in each age category (age 6-8 and 9-12) will have their jokes performed live on a special Red Nose Day Blue Peter. The winners will also have the chance to visit the Blue Peter studio to see the programme and receive an orange Blue Peter competition winner’s badge, a signed certificate and a Comedy Classroom trophy.
The Red Nose Day Comedy Classroom initiative also includes a range of resources to help teachers easily integrate the competition and comedy writing into lessons. It is all linked back to the curriculum, which means teachers and students alike can have the giggles without the guilt.
