On Tuesday 14th March at 4pm, Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills and long standing co-presenter Chris Stark will be putting their humour to the test, as they host Radio 1’s 24 hour LOL-a-thon for Red Nose Day.
Broadcast live on Radio 1, the pair will really be making their laughs matter as they attempt to keep each other, and the nation, LOLing around the clock.
"This is going to be great but also really hard!" says Scott, "I mean, I can’t remember a joke I heard 24 minutes ago let alone tell them for 24 hours?! Me and Chris aren’t comedians so we’re really, really going to need our listeners to help get us through the 24 hours. What’s the one about a man walking in to a bar again? HELP!"
To help the laughter keep on rolling, they'll be calling on celebrity guests and fellow Radio 1 DJs as well as you to send in your own jokes and funny stories online.
Scott and Chris witnessed first hand how your money makes a difference on a recent visit to Comic Relief funded project Depaul, a leading youth homelessness charity who provide accommodation and skills services. The pair learned about the issues young people face trying to move forward in their lives and how Comic Relief funding is helping.
"You can always rely on the Radio 1 listeners to help and support us," says Chris, "and trust me we’re really going to need it! And while we’re having a laugh, we’ll be raising money for a great cause that’s close to our hearts too – amazing!"
