TK Maxx
The Charity T-shirt just became incredibly cool!

TK Maxx have raised an absolutely outstanding £3,200,589.

They sold these limited edition t-shirts which were designed by the world famous fashion designer Stella McCartney and featured the Beatles, Morecambe and Wise, Madonna and an outrageously cute Bunny especially for kids.

With the images taken by Linda McCartney, David Bailey, Mary McCartney and Herb Ritts, and the T-shirts being worn by a host of famous faces, they were a smash hit.

As well as looking good they were doing good too. All profits from each T-shirt sold came to Comic Relief, and every single T-shirt was wholly manufactured in Africa from Fairtrade certified organic cotton – which ensures pesticide and GM free cotton and a fair price for the farmers too.

As with the last two Red Nose Day campaigns, TK Maxx, who are fast becoming one of the greatest Red Nose Day partners of all time, encouraged their staff to pull out all the stops and raise tons of cash themselves, as well as transforming their stores into a celebration of all things Comic Relief – it was a great campaign.

“It’s a real honour to be involved in such a tremendous cause and be part of the Red Nose Day campaign 2009. The designs of the T-shirts were inspired by iconic images of iconic people by iconic photographers and adding an element of humour to them. I wanted to focus on photographers where people are happy and create a charity T-shirt that would become a staple of a person’s wardrobe.”
