Star Traders Raise Cash for Comic Relief

5 February 2007

Celebrity duos took to Battersea Boot Sale yesterday to sell their stuff and compete for the Car Booty Crown.

Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders, Jason Donovan and Mariella Frostrup, Kirsty Allsop and Phil Spencer, Alan Titchmarsh and Charlie Dimmock, Kim and Aggie and the naughty Dick and Dom were the famous twos who opened their car boots to the awaiting bargain hunters. From sharp suits to signed photos and plants to polish, they fought to draw in the crowds and raise the most cash for Comic Relief.

Jennifer returned to bare cupboards after Dawn raided her home for the event, 'Dawn wasn't satisfied at clearing out her own house, she got her hands on mine too and tried to pass it off as a minimalist makeover!'

The celebrity car boot sale, to be shown on Comic Relief Does Car Booty, on 4th March, BBC ONE, is all set to be the start of nationwide sweep of car boot sales to raise money for RND '07.

You too can rev up your Red Nose Day fundraising by holding your own car boot sale. For tons of fundraising hints and tips get your hands on the brilliant little Red Nose Day DVD!
