Comic Relief Tunes Top The Charts

Peter Kat and Matt Lucas giving a BIG thumbs up

What a great music week for Comic Relief!

Peter Kay's new hilarious music track has gone straight into the charts at number 1 and the official Comic Relief single 'Walk This Way', by The Sugababes and Girls Aloud, is still sky high in the charts at number 2.

In a never to be repeated collaboration, Phoenix Night's Brian Potter and Little Britain's Andy Pipkin actually add their vocal talents to those of cult Scot band The Proclaimers to deliver a hilarious and rousing version of their 80's anthem '(I'm Gonna Be) 500 Miles'.

Joined by a host of stars including everyone from Paul O'Grady to Postman Pat and Bill Oddie to Basil Brush - Peter Kay performed '(I'm Gonna Be) 500 Miles' by The Proclaimers featuring Brian Potter and Andy Pipkin for the first time on the night of Red Nose Day.

The track has proved to be an immediate hit!

The original single (I'm Gonna Be) 500 Miles by The Proclaimers also charted at no.26 in Sunday's chart. A remarkable feat - two different versions of the same song to chart in the Top 40 in the same week!

The huge success of Peter Kay's last Comic Relief single, '(Is this the way to) Amarillo' for Red Nose Day 2005, spurred on his decision to create this new project and release this song. It is now available to download and to buy in stores, so what are you waiting for!
