Didn’t You Do Well!
20th Mar 2011
In true Red Nose Day tradition, the nation did themselves proud in silly wigs and funny costumes as they got up to all kinds of mayhem in the lead up to Friday 18th March. Yes, the fundraising frenzy that swept the land over the past few weeks saw countless heroic acts of ridiculousness to help raise money for Comic Relief.
For example, superhero James and his fantastic friends from Portchester held a fancy dress party with a group of local friends. There was a cracker eating competition, raffle, roulette wheel of fortune, cakes, ‘accent idol’ and a very odd exercise class and dancing. They managed to make over £200 for Red Nose Day.
Warminster Fire Station sets their sights high with a ladder climb for Red Nose Day. Their challenge was to climb the same height as the three biggest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales.
Ahmadi Muslim women and girls from Upper Mitcham in south London raised a tasty sum by cooking and selling Indian foods like spicy fruit salad, chick peas/potato salad, meat kebabs and samosas.
There were even reports of two 13 year olds managing to stay silent for 12 whole hours. Abigail Graveson and her friend Hannah Sayles didn’t say a word from 8am to 8pm and raised £300. Mum was on hand to verify that not a peep was heard.
Whatever you did this Red Nose Day to help vulnerable people in the UK and Africa, we think you’re utterly brilliant!
Now you just need to pay your money in if you haven’t got round to it yet.
The sooner you get it to us, the sooner it can be put to work to help change lives.
