McFly Big Paint Job Challenge – Winner Announced!
16 February 2007
Fans screamed their appreciation as McFly walked on stage at the Hard Rock Café in Birmingham to take up their challenge to paint each other’s portraits in just 10 minutes, for the Comic Relief Big Paint Job Challenge.
After much disagreement, the internationally acclaimed panel of judges - Dan Gogh, P.S. Lowry, Rough Harris and Too Loose Le Wreck - awarded points for each picture based on technique, actual resemblance, and whether any paint actually ended up on the canvas.
Amazingly, the final verdict was a four-way tie and the winner had to be selected by inviting the audience to clap and cheer for each painting in turn, with the Comic Relief Clap-o-meter measuring the results.
Harry emerged as the clear leader and was duly presented with the Comic Relief Red Nose Day Golden Palette award. We won’t say we told you so!
