Rugby Legend adds his support
Former English rugby union player, Matt Dawson MBE, made a guest appearance at the International Material Handling Exhibition (IMHX) at the NEC, Birmingham. Matt was busy signing rugby balls for visitors to the show wearing his red nose for RND ’07!
The medieval Big One!
Delegates at the TOWER Software European user conference at Coombe Abbey near Coventry donned medieval dress (plus obligatory Red Noses) on Tuesday in order to raise money for Comic Relief. Their banquet and raffle raised a staggering £1700!
Doctors Big Sale
The cast and crew of the popular BBC drama Doctors hosted a big sale for Comic Relief in the Pallasades Shopping Centre, on Wednesday 7 March. Items on sale included home made cakes from Jamie Oliver’s ‘Little Book of Big Treats’, plus specially signed scripts and cast photo cards.
Nick Hancock visits Birmingham
TV star Nick Hancock visited Birmingham on Thursday 8 March to help spread the message for Comic Relief. As well as visiting the Vines Lane Community Centre project to see how the money you raise is spent, he signed T-shirts in TK-Maxx and even managed to fit in a photo-shoot with a bull!
An invited audience of fans screamed their appreciation as McFly walked on stage at the Hard Rock Café in Birmingham to take up their challenge to paint each other’s portraits in just 10 minutes, for the Comic Relief Big Paint Job Challenge.

BBC Asian Network Punjabi Show presenter Dipps Bhamrah is asking his listeners to come up with a cheeky Red Nose Day challenge – the wackier on better. The top three challenges will be announced on 11 March and listeners will have four days up to 15 March to vote for their favourite.
On Red Nose Day, BBC TV 'Midlands Today' star presenter Nick Owen will be leading 'The Big Line Up' in Centenary Square, Birmingham.
We're aiming to get 1,000 dancers together in an attempt to smash the current Guinness World Record for the longest contra-line dance.

Big Difference
From the money raised from 10 Red Nose Days, Comic Relief has spent over £7.7 million on over 400 projects in the West Midlands.
Solihull MIND received a significant grant, which funds a post to support the advocacy work carried out in the centre. As well as
speaking up on behalf of people with mental health problems, the support workers help individuals develop the skills they need to give them the
confidence to be able to speak up for themselves in the future.
